Becoming A Raptor
We have time trials every year, usually the third or fourth week of school. Time trials determine who is on the pre-championship team and who is a member of the Championship Team (competing at District, Region, and State).
If you are a LASA student wishing to join:
1). Athletes and parents should add Sportsyou app and join our team (below)
2). Complete the forms required to participate in AISD athletics (below)
3). Have your academic counselor add Swim/Dive to your schedule
4). Attend Time Trials (see Home Page for important dates)
It is essential to remember that no athlete is able to participate in Time-Trials, Practices, or Competition until all forms are completed. A new physical is needed for everyone dated after mid-April the prior school year. There are multiple forms to be completed in the parent portal.
Go directly "as guest" to the portal here:

Time Trials Process and Details:
1). We get times in the 100 Free and 100 Choice Stroke for all attendees
2). Any athlete not cleared by Athletic Trainer / Coach to participate in AISD
athletics will not be allowed in the pool for Time Trials. This is a legal
requirement that Coach Parks has no flexibility to negotiate unless the only
thing missing is a paper document that you bring in person the morning of
the time trials.
What if I miss Time Trials due to Athletic Form delays?
Regardless of the reason for missing time trials, any athlete who wishes to join the LASA Swim and Dive Team is still allowed to become a member of the team, assuming they are willing to pay fair-share dues and attend competitions; however, such athletes will be automatically put on the Pre-District Team with the opportunity to provide times later at practice to earn a position on the District Team.
Please understand that Coach Parks does not want to send athletes home or keep them out of the pool after an early wake-up and 6:00am arrival, especially if it is their first interaction with our team. That being said, Athletic Forms are a non-negotiable. Please see the "How to Start" tab for instructions about athletic forms. These are the same forms for returning athletes as well.
What do I need to bring to Trials?
1). Goggles
2). Swimsuit
3). Towel
4). Change of Clothes
5). All supplies for school (athletes take bus from YMCA)
6). If by chance you completed all online forms but are only missing paper
the paper documents for Coach and Doc, bring them as well. If online forms
are not done, you cannot participate in trails and will be asked to either call
parents or wait for the bus at 7:20am.
